Taxpayers Are Serfs to the Ruling Class

Private property rights are basic human rights. Somehow, taxes are thought to trump private property rights. If a serf called a taxpayer wants to avoid paying taxes to his feudal lord called a politician or a tax-collector, he must flee his country. However, private property rights are basic human rights that should not require fleeing one's country to be implemented.

When a libertarian or anyone but a deluded taxpayer or a member or a beneficiary of the feudal order realizes that he is a victim, liberals resort to name-calling. Suddenly the people who want to avoid being victimized are elitists and the people who want to be feudal lords are the egalitarians. Argumentum ad hominem is no good argument either.

Hypothetically, taxes could be for the common good. But so could the human sacrifices of the Aztecs. Taxes are human sacrifices, too. Taxes are the price we pay for our civic religion, call it socialism, liberalism or conservatism.
